Born: September 13, 1939 in Dixon, IL
Died: November 5, 2021 in Sterling, IL
Charles Grant Baker, 82, of Sterling, Il, also known as Chuck or Charlie, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at Regency Care of Sterling on Friday, November 5, 2021 in Sterling, Illinois. Chuck was born in Dixon, Illinois on September 13, 1939 to Ruben and Lorena (Perry) Baker. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon Ann (Durr) Baker, of Sterling and his four sons, Ricky (Mary) Baker of Arizona, Rusty (Olivia) Baker of Sterling, Micheal Baker of Ohio and Terry (Lisa) Baker of Dixon, as well as nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He retired from Motorola where he worked as a program manager. He enjoyed hunting, camping, scouting in the desert, collecting Southwestern art, and reading Western novels. He liked to watch Western movies and cheer for his favorite sports teams: The Bears and the Cubs! Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and playing cards with his family.
A private family service to celebrate his life was held Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
