Born: October 26, 1941 in Rockford, IL
Died: April 17, 2024 in Rockford, IL
Don R. Craig, 82, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in his home surrounded by family. Born October 26, 1941, in Rockford, the son of Ernest H. and Margaret I. (Forehand) Craig. Graduated from Rock Falls High School, Class of 1959. He married Lauralyn Jill Conley on July 1, 1959, in Rockford. Employed by Barber-Colman, formerly Roper Whitney for 42 years, retiring in 2000. Lifelong fan of the Cubs and Bears. Don enjoyed doing yard work and he loved fishing, especially in Canada. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jill; his children, Terry (Carrie) Craig, and Kristie Bellone; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Peggy) Craig; numerous nieces and nephews; and loving fur baby, Muffy. Predeceased by his parents; and son, Steven P. Craig. Special thanks to Nick for his love and care. Also, the family wishes to thank Mercy Health Hospice, especially RN Jessica, and CNA Shelly for their devotion.
Visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls, IL. Visit delehantyfuneralhome.com.
