WALNUT – Dorothy Mae Denny, age 85, formerly of Rock Falls died peacefully with family by her side Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Allure of Walnut.
Dorothy was born on January 22, 1939 in Rock Island the daughter of Thomas and Ila (Pearson) Bopes. She married William Denny on January 23, 1955 in Sterling. He preceded her on June 27, 2023. Dorothy was employed with Borg Warner in Dixon for over 30 years. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother who would do anything for anyone.
Survivors include, two daughters, Barb Howlett of Walnut and Annette (Mark) Ioder of Ohio; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Denny; one granddaughter, Katie Ioder; two sisters, Marie Young and Doris Jean Grissom; one brother, Clair Bopes.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2024 at the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jacob Gawlik officiating. Burial will follow at the Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
