Francis E. "Frank" Shippert age 73 of Dixon died on Wednesday Nov. 23, 2022 at Oregon Health Care in Oregon, IL. He was born on Nov. 7, 1949 in Dixon, IL the son of Dean and Iris Margene (O'Rorke) Shippert. Frank worked for Shipperts Moving and Storage for many years prior to his retirement. He loved collecting antiques and collectables along with western memorabilia. Frank is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children Eric Shippert of Dixon, Jennifer (Todd) Long of Ohio, Mike Johnson of Colorado, Missy Shippert, several grand children and great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his siblings Mike (Sue) Shippert of Dixon, John Patrick Shippert of Freeport, Thomas (Micki) Shippert of Dixon, Jeffrey (Denise) Shippert of Dixon, James (Mary) Shippert of Dixon, many nieces and nephews and his significant other Carolyn Brechon of Dixon. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday Nov. 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Visitation will be on Tuesday Nov. 29, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. Memorial has been established to Newman Central Catholic High School. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.

My condolences to the Shippert family for the loss of Francis. I knew him when we were kids in grade school (I was a year older) and when I played baseball with his brother Pat on a summer team in the Future League, I think it was VFW. I remember Francis (I did not know him then as Frank) as a tough, energetic, and funny kid, a good guy who was always ready for some fun. I had not seen him in probably well over years, but that his passing saddens me is a sign of his lasting impact on those who knew him. May his memory be a blessing to his family and friends.
