Helene Louise Wildt, 96, of Erie, IL, died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her daughter's home in Hampton, IL. Services were held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Erie United Methodist Church. Visitation was from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL. Burial was at the Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Erie Food Pantry.
Louise was born July 28, 1927 in Virginia, Illinois, the daughter of William and Elsie (Meier) Ring. She married James Wildt on July 12, 1947 in Chandlerville, IL. While Jim farmed, she was a homemaker, keeping house and raising their four children. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening. She was a great cook. Louise volunteered for hospice, and for over 30 years with the Erie Food Pantry.
She is survived by her 4 children, James Edward (Brenda) Wildt, Asheville, NC, Leslie Ann (Merlyn) Hood, Hampton, IL, Janet Louise (Tom) Talbert, Punta Gorda, FL, Jeffrey Lewis Wildt, Erie; sister, Leta Webster, Enumclaw, WA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, William Robert Wildt; siblings, Mary, Melvin, Arthur, George, Wilbur Ring; and granddaughters, Amy Louise Talbert, and Erin Christine Talbert Coleman. Louise was a very special lady and I have many fond memories of times we spent together through our hubbies working at FS.
So sorry I was unable to attend her funeral.
