Kevin Dean Heald, 69 of Sterling, IL, died Monday March 13th 2023 at CGH Medical center. Kevin was born April 24, 1953 in Woonsocket, South Dakota, the son of Marion and Martha (Veenendaal) Heald. He married Judith Ann Smith on June 30, 1973.
Kevin loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He lived to be their biggest fan in all of their events. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Kevin worked at Menards for 19 years, retired, and then continued at Carpetland. His true passion was serving the Lord. He was a foster parent, a house dad, a minister and youth group leader. He touched many lives in Christ through the ministry.
Survivors include his wife Judy; two sons Sam Heald and Zach (Kim) Heald; 4 brothers Mark, Scott, Vance and Jarod. As well as 4 sisters; Karen (Ron) Bartz, Donna (Darell) Pack, Yvonne Glover, and Colleen (George) Borys, mother in law Barbara Beien, brother in law Jim (Brenda) Smith; sisters in law Kathy (Ken) Holtz, Marie (Jesse) Eissens, Teresa (Dan) Brown, Becky (Steve) King, 6 grandchildren Aubriana, Julian, Kuitim, Cole, Alivia and Jerika.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Martha Heald; sisters Kathleen and Sonya; brothers Fabian and Shawn.
Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday March 18, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, with Adam Meyer, officiating. Visitation will be 5PM-7PM Friday March 17, 2023 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10AM-11AM at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
