Doug was my first roommate in the Army. Such a smart, pure, awesome guy to be around. This is more than saddening to hear and my thoughts and prayer to his wife and family.

Doug was such a lovely presence in the Singapore middle school library. Heather, my heart is with you as you work through this aching loss.

Heather I am so shocked and saddened to hear this. Although I never had the opportunity to meet Doug, I enjoyed following your adventures on Facebook. May your wonderful memories of those adventures bring you peace. With sincere sympathy from your cousin in NJ.

Doug will be very missed by us all! When Heather first met him I could tell she was in love. We also adored Doug from the start. He was funny, kind, and cared about the kids whether it was feeding little Gwennie summer sausage , playing games with us, or getting us fancy donuts! He was an amazing chef and was a great conversationist. He was such a wonderful caregiver to Donna and a doting and proud parent to Spooky and Chief. Doug even cared for our Carley dog. I loved seeing how happy Heather was exploring the world with him. There will be a big void without Doug... but I know a bit of him will live on in all the lives he´s touched. Rest in peace dear friend!
