Martin "Marty" Ramirez Jr. died Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Marty was born April 13, 1952 in Sterling, Illinois. He is the son of Martin,Sr. and Frances Ramirez of Rock Falls, Illinois.
He is a graduate of Rock Falls High School, class of '70.
He loved being a showman.
He used to DJ for the club Poison Apple during its heyday in Sterling. He also had a love of music, and used to sing lead in several bands. Marty was a member of the San Antonio R & R Musicians Group and was well known among his fellow musicians. He loved watching his cactus bloom, was an avid birdwatcher, and loved watching sports, especially Da Bears. He also volunteered his time to play pool with residents of a retirement home. He enjoyed his family and had friends everywhere he went. He was a retired optical technician and an organ donor so that others may have sight and have the ability to walk.
Marty is survived by his wife, Linda of 43 years, mother Frances, sisters Elvira (Veda), Mary, Cynthia and brother Andrew, three nieces and two great grand nephews, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Martin Sr.
No funeral services will be held.
