David "Mike" Orlowski, age 71, of Sterling, died Friday, May 9, 2025 at Rock River Hospice and Home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mike was born May 11, 1953 in Sterling, IL, the son of Francis and Donna (Bowman) Orlowski. He married Debbi Hook on October 16, 1982. Mike was employed by the Sterling Fire Department for 32 years and retired as Fire Captain. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Chicago Bulls, White Sox, and Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife, Debbi Orlowski of Sterling; two daughters, Courtney (Kevin, Jr.) Bruckner of Morrison and Kadie Orlowski of Rock Falls; and two grandchildren, Kenzie Bruckner and Kendyl Bruckner.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Per his wishes, there are no services.

I remember Mike not only from the neighborhood but also from school. We went to school together from grade school through high school. I remember him as a nice guy who made us all laugh. May he rest in peace.
