Vonda M. Shank, 100, passed away Thursday august 25, 2022 at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison surrounded by family. Vonda was born June 3, 1922 in Coleta the daughter of Clarence and Beulah (Reecher) Heide. She married Wayne Shank on June 16, 1940 in Coleta. He preceded her in death on April 22, 2001. Vonda then married Bert Rice on June 6, 2010. He also preceded her in death on March 21, 2017.
Survivors include one son Ronald (Nancy) Shank of Morrison; one daughter-in-law Donna Shank-Zimmerman (David Zimmerman) of Coleta; three sisters Verna Reiff of Dixon, Therma Smith of Sterling, and Emily Allison of Ashland OH; four grandchildren James (Marcy) Shank, Brenda (Gary) Linton, Jason (Heather) Shank, and Melissa (Sean Oday) Shank; two great-grandchildren Joseph Shank, and Dani Slonneger.
Vonda was also preceded in death by her parents; one son Danny Shank; and one grandson Robert Shank.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM Monday August 29, 2022 at Coleta United Methodist with Reverend Joel McClellan, and Reverend John Reynolds, officiating. Visitation will be 5PM-7PM Sunday August 28, 2022 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
A memorial has been established to the Coleta United Methodist Church and Resthave Care & Rehabilitation.
