Charlie and Linda,
My mother, I and Carol would like to extend our deepest sympathy. Your mother was a very special person, always making everyone around her smile. She had a gift for making life more joyful for everyone near her. I'm sure she will be missed. Please know our prayers are with you both during this Christmas season.

Charles. I was so saddened to hear about Edna's passing. Our family always felt like she and your dad were relatives when I was growing up. I remember how she took care of your grandmothers. She was the closest thing to a saint I will even know in my lifetime. She was a true lady, and a truly modern woman at the same time. I adored her from the time I was a child, and have so many sweet memories of her. The last time we saw one another was when I was visiting Savannah, & attended church with my niece Robin. Happily, there was Edna with her wonderful smile & eternal cheerfulness. Like so many I am sure, I adored Edna Depue, and will miss her so much. My deepest sympathy goes out to you Charles, in the passing of your dear mother. With affection to you and your family,
Frederick & Cheryl Hodge

We are so very thankful for the life and times of Mrs. Edna Depue. My mother Pearl Hodge and Edna were the best of friends. Edna always greeted everyone with a warm and loving smile, passing on her strength “her force” giving you a new outlook to carry on the day. In good times and bad she would keep the faith and offer hope to everyone around her. She personified a Christian woman who lived a life of faith, hope, charity and love. It has been our honor and privilege to have known her and had our lives blessed by this devoted nurse, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. God blessed our lives with Mrs. Edna Elizabeth King DePue.

Charlie and Linda,
Learning that your mom has gone to be with the Lord was such a shock. My prayers are with you and your family. Edna was such an amazing person. Meeting the needs of so many people, for so many years will cause her to be remembered fondly. Her passing will create a void that only time will heal.
Knowing that you and Edna are saved and will be reunited with her in heaven is such a comforting reassurnace.

Charlie,
Few families experience the endearing love you and your family have enjoyed with Edna. May you find solace in the memories of the model she was for so many.

Charlie and family,
Please accept our deepest condolences. Your mother was so gracious and one of my mother's best friends.
Mother often told tales of the Marine Hospital, and the last picture I have of her was during one of the nurses' reunions at the Beach.
