Fay Wiggers Obituary
Fay was born in Dublin, GA on February 10, 1924. She married the late Rear Admiral Hugh H. Howell, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. and was divorced following 9 years of marriage. In 1956, she married Lt. Col. David T. Wiggers (Dave) and together enjoyed 47 years of marriage until his death.
Fay excelled as a military wife and she and Dave lived and traveled throughout the world together. At Dave's retirement they settled in Savannah. She held many leadership positions in the Officer's Wives Clubs and received a Special Commendation from the United Nations for her work in Korea. Later, Fay served as the long-time manager of The Pirate's House Gift Shop, and The Brass Crab Gift Shop in Savannah.
Fay loved her family and many friends, entertaining, playing bridge and the piano. Her sweet spirit and graciousness will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beaufort National Cemetery followed by an open house at the home of her daughter, Anna-Fay Lohn, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190 Savannah, Ga 31416 (912) 355-2289.

My deepest sympathies - Fay was a wonderful friend to me and my family. She was especially kind to a new, young Army wife in 1974. I learned much from her about being a good Army wife. I will miss her!!
