I enjoyed knowing Mr.Collins as my elementary school principal. He was a very good friend to my daddy and spent many hours fishing with him at our pond. He has blessed our family with many happy memories. I send my sympathy to the Collins family.

At this moment as I browse through my truly prized Senior Yearbook, The Mastiff,1961, I am deeply moved as I note Mr. Collins' signature so carefully written along the border of his photo on page 9. At that time in his life, he was a Science teacher, and I was fortunate enough to be in his Chemistry class. He was also sponsor of the 8th Grade, the Science Club, and Boys' Basketball. He was a role model and a part of my past never to be forgotten. Farewell, Mr. Collins.

Dear Mrs. Collins, Eddie, Karen, and Families,
I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Collins. He was a very special man and had a positive influence on so many lives through his years in education. He was a wonderful principal when I was in High School, and was my first principal when I came to teach in the public school system. He taught me many lessons about being a teacher that are still with me today. I have many happy memories of his service at Lyons Elementary School. He was the epitome of what a school administrator should be. He was kind, fair, knowledgeable, and efficient. He was respected by teachers, students, and parents. He went on to be an outstanding superintendent for our school system. God bless you all during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Donna Ann Darley

HE TAUGHT ALL OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS EXCEPT FOR ONE MAYBE AND THEN EVEN TAUGHT MY DAUGHTER. I ALWAYS ENJOYED HE AND MS BETTY WHEN I WOULD SEE THEM AT THE OFFICE WHERE I WORKED. THEY ALWAYS ASKED ABT MY FAMILY. HE WILL BE MISSED! HE WAS AN EXCELLENT EDUCATOR AND YOUD COULD TELL HE PUT KIDS FIRST. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND KNOW THAT HE IS AT PEACE TODAY. GLORIA THIGPEN

Mr Collins was a special person. Always there for each and everyone.
He stepped up and filled in the shoes of Sam Jones when he passed away. We commend him for all the hard work that was put in at Lyons High School.
My thoughts and prayers and with all the family. Put your faith in God and he will see you through. As hard as it is, he isn't suffering any longer, but it is still hard to let them go. Thank you Mr Collins for all the years that you gave to us.

J.H., a dear and treasured friend to the Findley family, will be missed greatly. He was an inspiration and tremendous influence on all the Findley siblings, a fishing buddy with my father William J. and employer to my Mother Athelene who served as Parapro for 22 years. His dedication to community and students will be remembered always, an outstanding man in his profession. Job well done, Mr. Collins. God bless you and your family.
