I wanted to share a "Jimmy" story, that is part of the way I will remember him. I used to work at an office on Montgomery Crossroads, and I could't smoke inside the office, so I would sometimes go in the parking lot out front. I worked a good bit of nights and weekends, so I was out front "after-hours" on a regular basis.

Jimmy used to drive by, pulling his boat. He'd just been fishing, and I was still working. He would point and laugh, and next time I saw him he would point and laugh all over again.

I learned a lot from Jimmy over the years, and this was part of my lesson on "don't take yourself so durn seriously!" That is a little piece of Jimmy I can always carry with me.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have known him, and to have learned from him.

Dear Jerry and Family,
I was very heartbroken to hear of the news of the passing away of James. He was like a father to me and he touched my life with his love of life and his wonderful laughter. When I was growing up I felt like the Deloach family was a extension of my family. You could feel the love and hear the laughter from your house with one of his wonderful meals on Sunday afternoon. That is how James always showed his love to his family and friends through his love of cooking. I will miss him greatly, he was a wonderful father and friend to all. God Bless you in your time of great sorrow and I will continue to keep ya'll in my thoughts and prayers.
Love in Christ,
Kim
