John McKenzie Obituary

Springfield - John Wildon McKenzie, 54, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital. He was a native of Toombs County and had lived in Effingham County for many years. He was a master mechanic at Smiths Front End and Auto Repair and was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield. Survivors: wife, Virginia McKenzie of Springfield; daughter, Sheryl Goode of Florida; two brothers, James McKenzie of Midway, and Howard McKenzie of Springfield; one sister, Doris Higgs of Lyons; four step children, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at First Baptist Church of Springfield with Rev. Jeffery Rollins officiating. Burial: Gravehill Cemetery, Bloomingdale. I will always remember Uncle Wildon singing and playing "The Rose" for me just a couple of years ago. Uncle Wildon, I'm sorry i'm not there.. just found out this morning the day of your funeral. Tell my mom, grandma and Aunt Jean I love them and miss them.. Take Care...With much love... Lisa
