Joseph Barien Brown

1956 - 2017

Mr. Joseph Barien Brown was born April 15, 1956 in the Savannah, GA as the youngest son to the late Richard Brown, Sr. and Marguerite Smalls Brown. He departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Habersham House Assisted Living and Memory Care I Savannah, GA.

Joseph, a native of Savannah, GA was educated at Benedictine Military School and graduated in 1974. He then attended Tuskegee University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Science in 1979. Mr. Brown also acquired a Master of Arts in Computer Resources/ Info Management in 2007.

Joe Brown, as he was affectionately known, served in the United States Army from which he retired with an Honorable Discharge. Joseph accepted Christ at an early age and joined Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church in Bluffton, SC.

In October 2004, Joe entered into Holy Matrimony to Glenda Ann Brown who preceded him in death. Johnnie Lee Mitchell (Brother), Richard Brown, Jr. (Brother) and Mary Bertha Brown (Sister) also preceded him in death.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Charles Brown (Barbara) of Columbia, SC, two sisters, Betty Wardlaw of Buffalo, NY, and Joan Brown Simmons of Okatie, SC, brother-in-law, Wallace Brown, sisters-in-law, Connie Brown and Edna Brown, two special nephews, Tavares Wallace Brown and John H. Simmons, Jr. a God nephew, Geoffrey Johnson (Karla)a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Campbell Chapel AME Church, 25 Boundary St. Bluffton SC, 29910 Rev. Jon Black, Eulogist. Interment~ Beaufort National Cemetery (Beaufort, SC). Please sign our guest book www.sidneyjonescampbell.com
