Dear Phillips Family,
Doris was a beautiful and caring individual. She was a true survivor. I had the honor to know her through LIFE and the Coastal Empire Polio Survivors Association. I know you loved her as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Always be proud of her many accomplishments on behalf of those of us with diabilities. Her legacy will live on in Savannah. We will miss her greatly and will never forget her.
Sincerely,
Joyce Miller

My
condolences to Russell, daughters nd family. I met Doris in
hildren'sward at Warm Springs, GA more that 56 ears ago. We became fast friends while teenagers and later as young women. I left Savannah more than 34 years ago but we remained close and current through visits, calls and emails. I was always impressed with Doris' abilities; she was a great cook, seamtress, wife, and mother. Children just walked right
into her life and she had open arms for each and every one of them.
Doris and I shared much in common: our so-called disabilities, our
fears, hopes and dreams. Doris lived a good life facing her fears and
living her reams. She was an inspiration to all and a God-sent to many.
Through her civic pride she accomplished hard won efforts that
benefited others.
I will always remember that little girl, Doris, with her long braids
and winning smile. I will remember the lovely woman she became and now
will see her as angel in heaven.Rest in Peace, Doris. Your friend,
Joyce Clanton Miller

To The Family of Doris Phillips,
I want to express my deepest sympathy to you. Doris was an incredible lady that I had the honor of knowing and working with over the past 17 years. She leaves a rich legacy of touching my life as well as those in the community with her precious smile and love.

Grandma,
Thank you for everything you've done in my life. You taught me to accept and appreciate people who aren't able the way I am. You sparked my passion for cooking, one of the things I enjoy most. You taught me that Grandma doesn't have to mean biological. Your blood doesn't run through my veins but you will always be in my heart.
I just wish Leila was as lucky to grow up with such a wonderful person in her life.
I love you and I will miss you.

Dear Cindy & Family,
I returned from vacation today and heard about your Mother. I am so very sorry. I always enjoyed my visits with her. She was a very special person and it was a honor to have her as a patient. She quickly became more than a patient, she was a real friend. I will remember her with great fondness.
Sincerely,
Susan Slaughter, CRTT
