She is survived by her husband of 64yrs, Mr. Lawton Shuman of Richmond Hill; children, Barbara (Gary) Smith of Riceboro, Darnell (Shree) Shuman of Fleming, Timmy (Polly) Shuman of Fleming, Charlene (Tommy) Phillips of Richmond Hill, Lynn (Joye) Shuman of Baxley and Andy (Cindy) Shuman of Brunswick; brothers, Paul (Margie) Crowley of Fleming, Clarence (Joy) Crowley of Fleming and Clinton (Bobbie) Crowley of Crossville, AL; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Richmond Hill Full Gospel Church with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm with the Reverends Mark Downs, Gene Garrison and Jeptha Newberry. Interment will follow at the First Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jason Shuman, Byron Shuman, Joshua Shuman, Sheldon Shuman, Corey Shuman, Ross Phillips and Justin Shuman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jean Walker, Jeanette Haymans, Evelyn Smith, Reba Taylor, Janice Bashlor, Carla Drummond, Carole Knight, and Dr. Christopher Kuettner

Many prayers for the Shuman family. Ms. Mary was the most amazing and loving lady I have ever known. I am so thankful to have had the honor of loving and being loved by her. I will forever be thankful to her for the love, support, and advice she was always willing to share. Heaven has opened the gates to rejoice the homecoming of one saintly angel.

Mrs. Mary was one of the sweetest and kindest people I've ever met. Over the years, I have worked not only with her, but with many members of her family. Her influence on my life, both directly and through her family, has been tremendous. She had an unwavering belief in God and his love for all of us. I know that she is rejoicing right now as she watches over her family. I also know that she would take away their grief if she could. I pray that each of you will find comfort in God's love and in your wonderful memories of Mrs. Mary.

My love for Mrs. Shuman is from childhood to now. She blessed me with her beautiful compassion and love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She served Jesus faithfully. I will always regard her as a mother in faith. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Mrs. Mary was a very sweet and Godly lady who had a kind word for everyone. She never said a bad thing about anyone. She was a blessing to be around. She will be sadly missed in the community.
