Minerva Wilcox Obituary

Mrs. Minerva Hendry Wilcox - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Minerva Hendry Wilcox, 83, had her transition, Monday, October 13, 2008 at Heritage Health Care Center. A native of Savannah, she attended the public schools of Chatham County and attended Savannah State College(University). Reared in the House of Prayer for All People, she served as Mountain Maid for Bishop C.M.(Daddy) Grace, an original member of the Grace Jubilairs Choir, the McCollough Determinettes, State Marching Band Booster and original Co-Founder of the McCollough Stewardess. She served dutifully under four Bishops until she succumbed to declining health. Two sons: Eddie L. Wilcox, Jr and Kenneth L. Wilcox, preceded her in death. Survivors: sons: B. LeRoy Wilcox and Elder C. Wilcox, both of Savannah; siblings: Theodosia Hendry of Augusta, GA, Harriet Singleton, Thomas Hendry, James S. Hendry, Sr., all of Savannah, Dennis C. Hendry of Jacksonville, FL, and Artis Copeland of Laurleton, NY; seven grands; eight great-grands; daughter-in-law, Joan Wilcox; a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
