Nan Toole Obituary

Mrs. Nan Hill Toole - LYONS - Mrs. Nan Hill Toole, age 89 of the Johnson's Corner Community, died Monday, August 13, 2012 in the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Tattnall County and graduated high school there. She met her late husband and moved to Toombs County in 1939. She was a homemaker, and for many years, was employed at Oxford and Rosebud Manufacturing and at Toombs Central School in the lunchroom. She was a charter and active member of Edmond Chapel Church of God for sixty-six years and was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Rooster Toole; two sons-in-law, Durward Collins and Pete Wilkes, and eleven siblings. Mrs. Toole is survived by nine children, Jean Wilkes, Ivy Toole, Sr. and wife Sue, Ann Collins and husband Lawrence, and Wanda Collins of Johnson's Corner, Grace Smith and husband Kenneth of Douglas, Connie Beasley and husband Doyle of Lyons, Jobbie Toole and wife Sabrina, Hillbert Toole and wife Michelle and Herbert Toole and wife Debbie of Vidalia; an adopted daughter, Michelle Toole of Vidalia; thirty grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Nadine Toole of Johnsons' Corner and Juanita Hill of Pasadena, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 16th at 3:00 pm in the Edmond Chapel Church of God with Reverends R.M. Warren, Mike Smith, and Don Moye officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Reverend Ronald Warren. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 6:00 pm Wednesday.
