Olivia West Turner

Mrs. Olivia West Turner - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Olivia West Turner, 83, passed away on Saturday July 4, 2009 at her residence. She was a native of Chatham County and a graduate of Beach Cyler High School. At a young age she moved to New York City where she worked in the cleaning industry. After retirement she moved back to Savannah where she was employed by the state of Georgia at Georgia Regional Hospital for over 20 years where she received many honors for her work and dedication. She was a member of St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was also very active in her community including the 33rd Street neighborhood watch. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy C. Turner. She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Alonzo (Ernestine) Dancy of Norfolk, VA; two brothers, Julias (Julia) of West Hampton, VA; and Robert Lee ( Betty) West; one sister, Alice Starks; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three brother in laws, Sinclair ( JoAnn) Dancy, Tyrone ( Andice) Dancy both of Hardeeville South Carolina; and Jean Dancy of NY; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation: 6-7 p.m., Monday in the Chapel of Sidney A. Jones and Campbell Funeral Services. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Sidney A.
