I was saddened to learn of the passing of Li'l Raleigh. My sympathy and prayers are with you and your family. I give thanks to God, with you for him, as he was truly a blessing to you, your family and all who knew him.
Loosing someone you loved dearly is not easy; loosing a child, no matter how old, must be even more difficult. However, no matter the situation, Jesus tells "not to worry" in John 14. It's okay to cry and greive but God's Word (Psalm 30:5)assures us that joy will come again.

On Sunday November 29, 2009, our hearts were saddened at the passing our faithful usher and church member, Raleigh Bynes. While our hearts were saddened, heaven was smiling because an angel had come home to be with the Lord.
We will always remember that winning smile as visitors and members entered the doors of St. John Baptist Church, The Mighty Frotress. Raleigh possessed a smile that captured the attention of anyone entering the doors of St. John. That warm brilliant smile that was full of life and light will be missed.

He was a son that parents would love to have, a father that children would love to have, And was the husband to his wife that other women envied! he was a great uncle to his neices and nephews a great grandfather to his grand kids and a friend that anyone would love to have. These kinds of people are few and far between!God kept him around us to see in person what the definition of a pure all around loving person is like. I enjoyed serving on the Usher Board with him at St John Baptist Church, and him being my softball coach many years ago. I watch him interact with others so eloquently and always with a smile. So sorry to hear of Raleigh's passing. I always enjoyed my encounters with him, whether it was at a banquet, a funeral or at the Best Meat on the Street BBQ Contests. He was a good guy and lived life well.
