Robert Hilton Obituary

Mr. Robert Bruce Hilton - Vidalia -Mr. Robert Bruce Hilton, 90 of 1947 Joe Hilton Road, Vidalia died Thursday, June 1, 2006 in the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Montgomery County, living all of his life in the area and was a retired farmer. He was a WW II Veteran serving in Italy and North Africa, was a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he was pianist for over fifty years, had served on the Board of Commissioners of Montgomery County and the Montgomery County School Board, was a member of the Lyons Masonic Lodge #49 and the Royal Arch. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty five years, Elizabeth O'Conner Hilton. Mr. Hilton is survived by three sons, James Robert Hilton and his wife, Virginia of Vidalia, GA, Chesley Hilton of Vidalia and Richard Hilton and his wife, Debbie of Reidsville; one daughter, Mary Ann Warnock and Curt Garnto of Kibbee; two sisters, Helen Morris and Mildred Sowell both of Vidalia, six grandchildren, seven great -grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2006 in the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Reverend Dale Fincher and Reverend Dr. Keith Tipton officiating. Interment: Pinecrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 643 Old Kibbee Road, North, Vidalia, GA 30474. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Where have the years gone? It seems like such a short time ago that my family was visiting your family, and we were all in church together at Mt. Pisgah. Mama and Daddy thought the world of your mom and dad. They are probably all visiting together in heaven right now.
