My grandma had a smile that could brighten the darkest day and warm the coldest heart. It was, and still is, a reflection of her gracious spirit. Grandma Ruth's body is laid to rest, but her legacy lives on through each of us. Her departure is such sweet sorrow; I miss her dearly, but I know she has found an immaculate new home in the kingdom of heaven.
I love you Granny.

Moma Ruth, I will never forget you and all the good times and talks we shared together. You always believed in forgiving no matter what. You knew that forgiveness always frees the forgiver. I tried it and it worked. I will never forget you for that talk.
I have not been able to delete you yet out of my email or cell phone contact list. In time I will be strong enough to let go and just read and remember all the good emails you sent me. Whenver I see your name it just brings joy and a smile to me.
I dreamed about you last week and it made me happy the next morning when I got up and I remembered seeing you smiling and looking good in pink at your on home going. I told your daughter Cathey how happy you were and how pretty you were looking in your pink dress with your legs crossed smiling at all of us.
Ok Moma Ruth I'm going bring it to a close now and let you rest.
Love you. See you soon. I got my ticket and I will keep it until me meet again.

Mom, I don't knw how to do this? I miss you so much and the pain that I'm feeling because of that is very hard. However I'm going to hold on to all the Godly wisdom and knowledge that you instilled in me. And accept the comfort that you found in our heavenly Father, to help me get strong enough to go on. Mom there is a place in my heart that can never be filed because it was just for you. And the only thing that allows me to feel happiness is that I know without a doubt that you are secure in the loving arms of your Heavenly Father, the perfect man. Mom enjoy every moment because you truly earned your place. I miss you,but I know you are watching over me now and I pray each day that the pain of letting go will get better with time. Love you forever!!!!

The Most Precious Gift
Momma, I remember the times way back when,
When I was young and free of sin.
When your journey was long and the road was hard,
And life was dealing you nothing but low cards.
Then we were separated and our family torn apart.
I kept you in my mind and so close to my heart.
Momma, you kept on praying through all the hurt and pain.
“Don’t worry baby, the Lord can change things.”
I prayed, “Lord I know you have something better in store
because my loving mother deserves so much more.”
Now, you’ve received the most precious gift of all.
The Lord has called you home to take your seat around His throne.
Portia

To my dear mother, my sister, my best friend.
One month has past and the days and nights linger on,
It is so very hard to believe that you have gone home.
You were such a virtuous woman & filled with great wisdom,
You are such a major part of me and who I have become.
I may still shed a tear or two because I miss your presence here
And all your encouraging words you’d whispered in my ear.
I will always cherish the good times and laughter that we shared,
Until I am called home to heaven because I’m sure you’re already there.
If I use your life as an example, I know I can not go wrong.
When I change my earthly address, I will definitely make heaven my home.
I Love You!

Hey Mrs. Lady, how are you? How is it up there? I'm sure it is everything that you've dreamt of it to be... you left us too soon, and I know we have no say so over the matter of when you're to leave us, but I missed you greatly!!! I'm done shedding tears of sorrow, and the tears that I shed in the future will be tears of happiness. I will miss you being around grandma, and that great big ol' smile with those dimples:-). I will always remember those conversations that you and I had on the phone; you told me to stay strong through my situation, and I think of those words to help me get through this. So Im'ma be strong for you grandma, because I know you're residing at your new place of residence now, but if I had known, we would've planned a housewarming for your new place:-) I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! I know you're in a much better place! See ya on the other side!

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of one of the nicest, strongest woman I have every met. She was a very good friend to me and I enjoyed all the talks that we had and the advice that she gave me. There is a story in the bible called The Book of Ruth. The name Ruth means "mercy." The story shows that God’s grace and mercy extend beyond Israel to include all people. Grandma Ruth was a strong woman with a strong faith in God. When I met her and she told me her name, I remembered the story and mentioned it to her and she knew of it. Since that day we stayed in touch. The name certainly did fit her. Grandma Ruth will truly be missed.

My Dearest Grandma Ruth,
It's still hard for me to believe that you are gone. Everyday I wake up hoping that I'm just having a bad dream. I miss you so much. I miss our phone conversations, all of your encouraging emails, and most of all the way you would always make me feel like everything would be all right, no matter what I was going through. Grandma, I promise that I will make sure Trevon reads his prayer journal that you made for him every night. He misses you too. He understands that you are in a better place. Thank you for having those talks with him because he has played an important role in helping me keep it together. Grandma, I love you so much. Until we meet again...

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here
is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you
every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up
and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were
gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for
me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's
chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life
on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not
be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But
one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a
time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will
give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day
was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the
way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick
him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in
your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember
you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

We affectionately came to love her as "Miss Ruth" ~ a Christian Lady of Love. Love is Patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil ~ but REJOICES with the TRUTH. It always PROTECTS. Always TRUST. Always HOPES. Always PRESERVES. Yes, always PRESERVES (1 Cor. 13:4-7). Miss Ruth's loving spirit will LIVE in our hearts forever!!!
