Ruth Stein Obituary

Ruth W. Stein - SAVANNAH - Ruth Warshaw Stein, 90, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Paul A. Stein, died Thursday afternoon, November 7, 2013, at her home at Buckingham South and under the care of Hospice Savannah. Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Warshaw and the late Yetta Levine Warshaw. Mrs. Stein was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim, where she was the Recording Secretary for many years and was a member of the Sisterhood. She was a travel manager for AAA for 16 years. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Stanley Stein. Surviving are one daughter, Adele Aviva Stein of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Sandra Warshaw Elkins of St. Petersburg, Florida; one brother, Irwin Warshaw of Savannah, Georgia, and two grandchildren, Paul Brett Sawyer and Philip Cassidy Sawyer. The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Ruven Barkan. The family will sit Shiva from 2 until 6 o'clock Sunday and from 10 until 4 o'clock Monday at Buckingham South - 5450 Abercorn Street.
