Thelma Neufeld Obituary

Thelma Harber Neufeld, 86, died peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 28, after a lengthy illness. A native of New York, she moved to Savannah in 1999. She is survived by her adoring husband, Benjamin, of sixty -four years; her children, Dr. Laurence Neufeld and wife Dede, of Tampa, FL; Arlene Neufeld and fiancŽ Dr. Michel Steinfeldt of Savannah; and Dr. Elizabeth Neufeld of Savannah. She was the loving grandmother of Dr. Andrew Berens and wife Francis; Carolyn Berens and fiancŽ David Slipakoff; Dr. Lisa Berens Scott and husband Andrew Scott; Michael Neufeld, George Neufeld; Daniel Neufeld, Zachary Boven, and Jessica Boven. She is also survived by two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her generous spirit, outgoing personality, sense of humor, warm smile, devotion, and love of her family and friends, as well as her genuine concern and kindness towards strangers, left an indelible impression on all whos e lives were touched by her. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30 at Bonaventure Cemetery, with Rabbi Robert Wolkoff officiating. The family will sit Shiva at the home of Arlene Neufeld at 10 Tanaquay Court, The Landings.
