Thomas Wallace Obituary

Thomas C. Wallace Retired Engineer -Statesboro- Thomas C. Wallace, 81, of Statesboro, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 19, 2007. As a Christian and a member of the Baptist faith, he lived in Statesboro for the last 47 years. Raised in savannah, Georgia. Mr. Wallace became the youngest postmaster in the United States during the early 40's for McIntosh County. He workedcollaboratively with Georgia Southern College during his 23 years of employment with the City of Statesboro before retiring. His parents, Cecil and Maude Wallace, preceded him in death as well as a brother, Henry Earl and four sisters: Edith Carr, Lois Woods, Jane Boykin and Ellene Clark. Survivors: Myrtle Bland Wallace, wife of 56 years; sister, Jenny Heaton of Jacksonville, FL; children, Deborah Wallace of Statesboro, Thomas C. Wallace, Jr. (Charisse) of Belton, S.C. and Jason Wallace (Susan) of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren: Matthew Figg, Amanda Figg, Kristen Perkins, Rebecca Wallace, Thomas C. Wallace, III, Kathryn Wallace, Simeon Wallace, Elizabeth Wallace and Mary Lois Wallace: two great-grandchildren: Alyssa Selman and Cheyenne Perkins as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift can be made to Christ Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City, Utah.
