Wendell Hammock Obituary

Wendell A. Hammock - RICHMOND HILL - Wendell A. Hammock, age 79, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was an extremely talented man that had many achievements despite his battle with muscular dystrophy, two heart attacks, and a stroke in 2013. He built three homes in Richmond Hill and owned twenty seven apartments in Michigan prior to returning to Georgia. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Hammock of Richmond Hill; sons, Kip and Dell Hammock of Michigan, Wendel Hammock of Richmond Hill; wife in law for 18 years, Dottie Hammock of Michigan; daughter, Marie Irvin of Illinois and her family, Billy and Tina Baxter also of Illinois, Sammy Shahal, Christy Harris and Samantha Willis all of Guyton; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Cathy) Hackle and Michael (Tammy) Hackle all of Lyons; sisters- in-law, Martha (Larry) Dees of Vidalia, Jennie (Greg) Harden of Lyons; several nieces and nephews; multiple great nieces and nephews, several grandchildren locally and in Michigan. The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 6:00-8:00pm from the Coastal Christian Community Church on Highway 144 in Richmond Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Monday also from the Church.
