William Kelly Obituary

Dr. William Kelly, 79, of Savannah, died Friday, June 4, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital. The son of Ora Elizabeth Eppler and Dr. J. Raymond Kelly was born in 1923 in Hornell, New York. Dr. Kelly graduated from Georgetown Medical School in 1947. After serving as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps, he returned to Syracuse University to complete his medical residency in Pathology. In 1970, Dr. Kelly relocated to Savannah to become the Pathologist and Director of Laboratories at St. Josephs Hospital, where he practiced medicine until his retirement in 1989. Dr. Kelly is survived by his wife of 52 years, LaQuita Joy Kelly; five children, Kathy Kingen of Shelbyville, Ind., Steve Kelly of Oak Island, N.C., Kevin Kelly of Scotch Plains, N.J., Mary Kelly of Atlanta, and David Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz.; five brothers and sisters, Dr. John Kelly, Dr. James Kelly, Dr. Raymond Kelly, Mrs. Mae Scorocco, and Mrs. Orrie Ann Costello; and seven grandchildren. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14 at St. Frances Cabrini.
