“Uncle Bill,” words can’t even begin to express how important you were to my family, nor can they describe how greatly you will be missed. You were the strength holding my family together and also the support system in my life. You have been my mother’s hero and then mine since I was born. I was always proud to say that you are my uncle, because you accomplished things in life that were not even imaginable. You taught me how important “keeping your word” is. The most important thing that will be greatly missed is how one of your smiles could brighten up my day!!!!
Love,
Your great niece Jovounna

"Uncle Bill", that phrase means so much to so many in my family and in the community. For me, "Uncle Bill" was a Papa, a Father figure and a steady hand that guided me through many rough times in my life. When others had written me off, he was always there for me. Countless times in my life I have called him or just stopped over. His deep sweet voice would say "Whats Wrong Suger?" I could always count on him to offer a positive, insightlful word of wisdom, a hug that swallowed my worries and a smile that light up my heart. Of all the lessons I have learned in my life, "Uncle Bill" taught me the two most important lessons I will ever learn; The Power of Uncondtional Love, and the true meaning of living in God's way! On May 23, 2008 my heart was eternally broken by the passing of a most magnificent, loving, patient, Christian man. Although my heart is heavy with unimaginable saddness, I know that he is with his eternal father and watching over all of us now.
I will miss you infinitely
Neisa
