Zara Woods Cannady Simmons

Helena - Zara Woods Cannady Simmons, 86, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 in Telfair Hospital after an extended illness. Services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Barlow officiating. Interment to follow in the Helena City Cemetery. Mrs. Simmons was a native of Jeff Davis County and one of ten children born to Thomas Archibald and Lizzie Love Woods. She is preceded in death by husband, Bernice Cannady where they owned and operated Cannady's Fish Market in Hazlehurst, GA. Later, preceded in death by husband, Wyman Simmons of Helena, GA, where she worked at McRae Manor Nursing Home; later to live there until death. She was a baptist by faith. She had no children, but she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2003 from 7:00 til 9:00 p.m. at Lowe's Funeral Home.
