Isabel Marie Hassing, 86, of Hayward, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eau Claire, WI. She was born on June 20, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Vito and Josephine (Matera) Pantaleo. She was united in marriage to Harold Edmund Hassing on March 28, 1992 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webster, WI.
Isabel was a very kind and hospitable person, and family was always most important to her. She knew her way around the kitchen and loved to feed everyone. Isabel and Harold enjoyed traveling in retirement and spent many road trips traveling throughout the United States and Canada. She also volunteered at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital and was active with the Hayward Senior Center. Isabel liked to cheer on her local teams, the Brewers, Bucks, and Packers although she was always a Bears fan at heart.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Harold Hassing of Hayward; her children, Rick (Tammy) Davis of Naples, FL, Chris (Mike) Stone of Hayward, Linda (Dee) Burns of Hayward, Teri (Chris) Downing of Shoreview, MN; her grandchildren, Zach, Dalyce (Alex) Jenna (Luke), Stephanie (Adam), Kimberly (Len), Kevin, Katelin, Anna (Joe), Elizabeth, Susan (Jason), Brittany, Becca, Hoss (Karlie) Tia, Kylie, and Jack; her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ayla, Graham, Otis, Emalin, Cal, Eily, Case, Mia, Asa, Lexi, Noah, Desi, Isaiah, Anthony, LaMina, Thomas, Claire, William, Becker, Davis, Zinnia, Amelia, Eli, Luna, Veda, Wesley, Thatcher, and one on the way; her great-great-granddaughter, Briella; her sister-in-law, Mary (Gary) Mismer of Prescott, AZ; and many dear relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Isabel is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Davis; her daughters, Patricia in infancy and Ann Hassing; two great-grandsons, Levi and Leon; her brother, Joe Pantaleo; and her brother-in-law, William Hassing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10586 N. Dakota Ave, in Hayward, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of Mass. Interment will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Crescent Lake, WI.
