To Daves Family, I am so sorry to hear your father passed. I have such great memories of him and your mom. My parents Don and Amy Bennett, were good friends. I remember your dad coming to my medical careers class at Hug High School to talk about safety of snakes and him standing behind me holding a rattle snake as I introduced him. I thought I was going to die.
Your dad taught me how to respect the species. Even though I still don't like them. Dave was a wonderful man. I will miss him very much. We kept in touch over the years through Christmas Cards. I know he has a special place in heaven and hopefully visiting with my parents. God bless all of you,
Deanna (Bennett) Valles

I grew up in my dads shop where Dave had a Locksmith shop. I vividly remember the rattlesnakes and gila monsters on the counter. I really admired Dave, he was very influential in my life, he was the first person to teach me how to sharpen a knife and always had the most amazing stories. I still tell stories about Dave to my kids, especially my son who is an aspiring herpatologist. Rest in Peace Dave I personally will never forget your influence.
