JoAnn Culligan Obituary

March 24, 1938 - February 26, 2021 On February 26, 2021, JoAnn Culligan, loving mother, grandmother, and friend died in her Escondido home at the age of 82. JoAnn was born on March 24, 1938 in San Pasqual, CA to William and Arnetta (Nettie) Freeman. She was raised in a loving home with her older brother, Billy. JoAnn made Escondido her home where she raised two daughters, Linda (Schwab) and Barbara (Viera). She spent a considerable amount of time taking care of her parents, right up until the end. This showed the love and compassion she had for her family. JoAnn worked for many years at a local bank. JoAnn enjoyed quilting in her free time, as well as spending time with friends. JoAnn was active in the Church and spent her life devoted to the Lord. JoAnn was a loving grandmother to her 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She looked forward to their visits and her family will miss their time together dearly. There is nothing easy about losing someone unexpectedly but the fond memories, the sweets in the candy jar (slipped away by little grandchildren's hands), and the wisdom that was shared, will fill our hearts. Until we meet again...
