Raymond Gomez Obituary

May 26, 1956 - July 10, 2022 Ray Romero Gomez (66), passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side. Ray was born on May 26, 1956 to Joe G. Gomez (Joby) and Annie Gomez (Rooney). His siblings include Dorothy Quesada (deceased), Art Gonzales (Cindy), Linda Gonzales, Bobby Gonzales (Angie), Fred Gonzales (Nancy), Annie Martinez, Joe Gomez (Kathy) and Ricky Gomez (Mondy). Ray is survived by his wife, Martha and children, Shelly Montoya (David), Gina White (Emmett), Deanna Quassil (Joe). Ray John (son) (Olivia, surviving) preceded him in death in 2020. He also has 2 stepchildren, Adam and Katie Caputo. He has 11 grandchildren plus one on his way, 2 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. There was a private ceremony at his request. His ashes were sprinkled into the ocean as he wanted the sea to be his final resting place. He will forever be remembered for his love of God, music and all sports, especially when his grandkids were playing. (He was their #1 FAN!). He loved good food and conversation. He had the biggest sense of humor, a positive attitude and loved to laugh. He nourished everyone around him with love, faith and music. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He requested a song to be played as his ashes went into the ocean..."Somewhere in Heaven" by Carlos Santana. Ray will be missed by his family and friends. He attended Ontario High School and raised his family locally until later moving to Huntington Beach. He retired as a Teamster in the grocery industry. While we are grieving our loss, we are also rejoicing that he is at "home". As he used to say, "We'll meet each other again in paradise". Our family would truly like to express their gratitude and many thanks for all the expressions of sympathy.
