Robert Matthews Obituary
Bob passed away at home on June 1, 2017. Bob was born April 27, 1928 in Oakland, CA to S.R. and Katherine Matthews. Bob graduated from Colton High School in 1947, attended San Bernardino Valley College, and The George Barr Umpire School in Florida. He umpired in the Inland Empire for many years. Bob was a loan officer at Security Pacific National Bank and Bank of America for 28 years. Bob attended many sporting events, and was proud to attend 68 consecutive Rose Bowl games. He was most proud of his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anita, son Dr. Wayne Matthews (Linda), daughter Lori Holley (Jim), and son Dr. Lyle Matthews (Donna), all of Redlands, 7 grandchildren Jennifer and Corey Matthews, John Holley (Nicole), Steven and Daniel Holley, Kaley and Trevor Matthews, and 4 great grandchildren, Phillip, Joshua, Rachel, and Jessica Holley. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cortner Chapel in Redlands on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM, immediately followed by services at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands.

Bob was always be remembered for his kind spirit and
gentle manner. Although we did not live near each other,
I considered him a wonderful big brother. Our prayers are
