Roger Francis Lyons
Roger Francis Lyons was born on January 27, 1945. He passed away on October 31, 2017 at the age of 72. Roger was the son of Earl and Mildred Lyons and spent his entire life in San Bernardino, CA. He graduated from Pacific High School before attending San Bernardino Valley College and CSU Fresno where he earned a BA in Social Welfare. He received a Masters in Counselor Education from Loma Linda University. He served two years in the Army during the Vietnam War. He spent 30 years working for San Bernardino County as a Social Worker and a Facilities Manager.
He was a pillar of leadership for the First Presbyterian Church of San Bernardino. He served as an Elder and a Deacon. One of his contributions to the church was as a leader of the Sunday Bible study class for over thirty years.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, and his children Jonathan (Heather) and James Lyons and Tim Lehman (Michelle), Glen Lehman (Leisje) and Brenda Austin (Jon). Roger's greatest treasure in life were his 9 grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a memorial service held at the First Presbyterian Church of San Bernardino at 2pm on November 11, 2017, with a private interment held at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of San Bernardino, 1900 N. D St., San Bernardino,92405.
