J. Carson Capik

J. Carson Capik, 17, of Windsor, passed away unexpectedly February 14, 2023.

Carson was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

He was born Feb. 24, 2005, in Pottsville, Pa.

Carson was brilliant. He was a fabulous writer and a lover of music since birth. Carson enjoyed spending time with his whole family, and he especially loved the beach.

Carson was a senior at Red Lion Area Senior High School where was a member of the National Honor Society, the RL Media Team, providing the morning announcements, as well as being a member of the track team for four years. Carson was very proud to have been recently accepted through the early decision process at Bucknell University to study computer science.

Carson was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in York where he was active in the youth group for many years. He recently preached a beautiful, impactful homily as part of the youth service at Advent.

Carson is survived by his parents, John P. and Davina Capik; brother, Quinn Capik; paternal grandparents, John and Gloria Capik; maternal grandparents, Susan McGovern and David McGovern; aunt, Laura McGuire and husband, Dave; uncle, Jereme Capik and wife, Jillian; aunt, Danielle Doyle and husband, Eric; uncle, Ryan McGovern and fiancée, Michelle; and cousins, Finnegan, Sullivan, Lachlan, Madeline, Daniel, Eli and Riley. Carson is also survived by his loved dog, Piper.

Carson was preceded in death by his cousin Robbie.

Carson will be sadly and greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

A funeral service in celebration of Carson's life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Dr. Constance L. Mentzer officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carson's memory may be made to the J.
