Lee Stitzel Obituary

Lee. F. Stitzel, 69, of Kutztown, passed away Tuesday in his residence. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was married to Phyllis J. Manmiller Stitzel for 48 years.

Born on the family farm in Richmond Township, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Kurse Adam Stitzel.

Lee had worked 22 years at the former Pennsylvania Steel Foundry, Hamburg, till 1985. He then worked in partnership with his son as a well driller for Lenhart - Stitzel Well Drilling, Kutztown. He was an avid hunter and loved working on the farm.

He was a member of Zion Moselem Springs Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where he served as a past church treasurer. Other memberships included the Pike Township Sportsmen's Club, Kutztown Fire Company, Virginville Fire Company, Hamburg Fire Company, Good Will Fire Company and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Hamburg.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Lori A. Stitzel and her husband, Allen Spatz, Dryville: sons, Thomas L. Stitzel, at home, and Todd D. Stitzel and his wife, Tara, Kutztown; and four grandchildren, Christopher Spatz, Stephanie Spatz, Brandon Stitzel and Alicia Stitzel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Moselem Church Road, Kutztown. Interment will be in Moselem Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 117 West Main St., Fleetwood, and from 10 a.m. Friday morning to time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to JT's Tribe, a relay for life team whose aims are to help local families.
