Nancy Charowsky Obituary

Nancy "Dolly" Charowsky, 70, of Minersville, passed away on Wednesday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center–East Norwegian Street with her family by her side.

Born in Duncott, Cass Township, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Anna Yordy Beury.

She was a 1963 graduate of Cass Township and worked in the local garment industry, including Van Heusen and Fran's Lingerie.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, Minersville, and also a member of International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union.

?"Dolly" was a mother figure to many children in our family. She cooked homemade meals, cleaned like nobody's business, gave advice (whether you liked it or not) and upheld traditions from years-gone-by. She was the foundation on which we all could rely. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Adam Beury, Guy Beury, William Beury, James Beury, Robert Beury, Betty Hoysock and Phoebe Saukynas.

Surviving are her husband, Myron N. Charowsky, to whom he was married for 50 years; two sons, Daniel Charowsky, husband of Meho, Coal Township, and Myron M. Charowsky, husband of Lisa, West West Terrace; three grandchildren, Christoper Charowsky, Jaime Charowsky, husband of Danielle, and Ryan Charowsky, husband of Brittanie; a great-grandson, Bryson Charowsky; a sister, Anna Marie Sever, Saint Clair; nephews and nieces, including Chris Rose, Llewellyn, and her children, Amanda Close, Pottsville and Gabrielle Rose, Llewellyn, Sharon Devitt, Minersville, and her children, Danielle Devitt, Minersville, and Jennifer Seladones, wife of Drew, Good Spring, and her children, Grace and Emilee.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Thursday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. The service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. The family prefers donations to the First Congregational Church, 315 Sunbury St., Minersville. Visit www.dutcavich.com.

To Uncle Myron, Danny and 'little Myron' and your families. I want to send my deepest sympathy to all of you on the sudden loss of Aunt Dolly. I'm sure I can speak on part of all the cousins who have fond childhood memories of family dinners at Baba's house...especially Christmas and Easter. I will remember Aunt Dolly in her favorite rocking chair in the kitchen . May you all find some comfort that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. With Love, Jackie
