Nicholas C. "Mr. P/Mayor Nick" Pompilio, 78, of Pine Grove, passed away peacefully July 8, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, surrounded by his wife of 48 years, Jean, and close family friends after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 20, 1943, in Dover, N.J., he was a son of the late Joseph "Gyp" and Pauline Brandt Pompilio.

After retirement, Nick and Jean moved to Pine Grove, where Nick promptly went back to work at Lowe's in Pottsville, retiring after 14 years of service in March of 2022.
While living in Netcong, Nick served on the Borough of Netcong Council. He was then elected mayor in 1984, serving his community for 23 years, before retiring in 2007. He was inducted into the New Jersey Mayors Hall of Fame in 2005.
Nick was also a member of the East Coast Four Wheel Drive Association, Region B and Independent Jeeps of South Jersey Racing Team. He served as treasurer and then as chairman of the association for six years. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and loved camping.
