Ouillma Davidson Beecher (lovingly called BB by her family and friends) took her final breath at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023. She was surrounded by her family.
BB was born on May 30, 1923, and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, by her parents, Edward Burleigh Davidson and Leah Friend Davidson.
She married John William Beecher II from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. BB and her family moved to a small farm (Berry Creek Farm) in Wayne Township, where she raised vegetables and had a weekly market route in Pottsville. In later years, she utilized her natural ability to connect with people and became a sales manager for Avon products.
She had three daughters, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, and her daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hayes.
She leaves behind three generations of family to cherish her memory: her oldest daughter, Carol Ann Beecher, who lived with and cared for BB during the last half of her life; her youngest daughter, Ouillma Elaine Douthett, married to Russell, and mother of Danielle and Nicole; grandchildren, John Hayes (married to Linda) and Carolyn Fuss, children of BB's late daughter Sarah; and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Katrina, daughters of Carolyn and her husband, Norman.
BB will be missed by more than family. Her vivacious attitude toward life meant that she never met a stranger and touched the lives of so many people during her long life. She was lucky to live throughout the country, calling Indiana, Pennsylvania, California and Virginia home. Not content to stay still, BB and Carol traveled the world, visiting friends and family in Germany and the United Kingdom, and exploring places as far afield as China and Alaska. Before she began to slow down, she was active with bridge, cooking for friends and family, and spending time in the yard and garden. One of the highlights of her life was winning first in show at the Schuylkill County flower show.
BB lived to see her 100th birthday. It is a testament to how many she touched in life that so many of her family and friends attended the celebration of that milestone this past May. Although she will be greatly missed by all, we are grateful for the time we had with her, and content to know that she is finally at peace.
In lieu of flowers, BB would like donations to be sent in her name to St. Joseph's Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD, 57326 - www.stjo.org.

In the late 1980´s Ouillma was looking for someone to take care of her mentioned property for more than a year. I was allowed to live there with no rent, as long as I paid my own utility fees.
The blueberries were amazing. The fishing at the pond was relaxing. I think of her often because it helped my life at the time as well as hers. SEE ATTACHED PHOTO I TOOK OF POND AREA.
Thank you Ouillma for the honor of taking care of such a beautiful home and property and also allowing me to hold a Civil War document signed by Abraham Lincoln. Rest in Peace.
