Ronald Shapella Obituary

Ronald Holtzman Shapella, 80, formerly of Pottsville, died Saturday after a brief illness.

A 1946 graduate of Pottsville High School, he was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, and earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia.

He was an Air Force veteran.

Ronald and his wife, the former Dena Taglieri, formerly of Minersville, resided for nearly 50 years in Moores-town, N.J., where he retired from RCA and Semcor.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Ron Jr. and his wife, Patricia, West Amwell Township, N.J., and Dan, Cinnaminson, N.J.; and a daughter, Valerie, Lancaster.

A memorial service will he held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Moorestown. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to First Presbyterian Church, 101 Bridgeboro Road, Moorestown, N.J. Lewis Funeral Home, Moorsetown, is in charge of arrangements.

Ronnie and I graduated from PHS in 1946. Ron was a very nice schoolmate and I am sorry to hear about his passing. May his Soul Rest in Peace. God Bless you Ron.
