Florence, SC- Hazel Welch Turner, 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will have a time of visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the National Cemetery at a later time.

Mrs. Turner was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Major and Myrtle Grantham Welch. She was a Cafeteria Manger at South Florence High School before retiring.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald E. Turner; sons, Ronnie (Terri Saunders, Doug (Lisa) Saunders, Rick (Sherry) Saunders, David Saunders; daughter, Diane (Jeff) Laughlin; sister, Juanita (Jack) Sharpe; two step-sons, Ron Turner, Jr, Brent Turner; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Four brothers, "Bud" Welch, Lawrence Welch, "Boot" Welch and "Popeye" Welch and two sisters, precede her in death, Lib Howell and Peggy Welch.
