Parrott
Paul Merril Parrott, 79, husband of Hazel Parrott, died Sunday, December 27, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Parrott was born in Lake City, South Carolina, son of the late Bennie Larue Parrott and Angie Ard Parrott. He worked with Wilson Tree Company and later retired from Sumter Builders as a lineman. Paul was a member of Unity Christian Fellowship and was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Hazel. He enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Hazel Parrott of Timmonsville; children, Joey Parrott of Effingham, Cindy (Mitchell) Carter and Scott (Michele) Parrott, both of Timmonsville; grandchildren, Caroline Parrott, Dustin (Ashley) DeFee, Ashley Carter, Jacob Carter, Dillon Carter, Scott Parrott, Jr., Luke Parrott, and Jayden Allen Spencer; great grandchildren, Gabriel Treager, Hudson DeFee, Rosalie DeFee and Genevieve DeFee; brothers, Gary (Janet) Parrott of Scranton, Russell (Lois) Parrott of Valdosta, GA and Lenard Walker Parrott of Columbia; sisters, Mary (Bobby) Moore of Scranton, Martha (Larry) Gaskins of Johnsonville, Virginia P. Ducote of Abbeville, Sarah Jane Smith of Columbia, and Mary Ann Crumbley of Scranton.
Mr. Parrott was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Jean Carter; grandchildren, Crystal Parrott and Mitch Carter; siblings, Shirley Parrott, Patsy Ayers, John Parrott, Edward Parrott and Larue Parrott.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Lake City.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
