Al is survived by his son, Monte (Holly) Burger of St. Cloud; grandson, Jack "Bubbers" Burger of St. Cloud; step granddaughter, Amanda Haley of St. Cloud; brother, Luvern (Beatrice) Burger of Pleasant Lake; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene; two brothers; and two sisters.

Al's family would like to thank the staff at the VA Medical Center for all their care and compassion for Al.

Monte,
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. My favorite Uncle Al was a very kind man and always treated me with respect. I spent many days during the summer with him in the 50's at the Almar. In 1961 at the age of 11 he found out I had my eye on an old gocart frame for sale at $30. So he let me spend some of that summer staying with him and Marlene doing some chores at the 400 club earning that $30. He, like my Dad taught me a strong work ethic at a very young age. Oh I loved those french fries at the 400 Club. He enjoyed working and worked very hard his whole life.

Monte,
I don't know if you remember me, but your parents were an important part of my life. My mother was the cook when they bought the 400 Club. I was the first paperboy at Pleasant Lake and picked up the papers at the 400 Club each day. On hot days Al would give me a cold 7-up, and I always got a friendly hello. When I got out of the military I bartended for them at the 400 Club for a few years. Later I saw them at the All American, Rascals, and the St. Joe Farmers Market where I sold meat. Whenever I ran into your parents, it was like a homecoming. I will miss them both, and I offer my condolences to you and your family.
