Alvina Bechthold Obituary

Alvina L. Bechthold, age 83 of Belgrade, died Nov. 16, 2010 at Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, at Grace Lutheran Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in St. Francis deSales Catholic Cemetery in Belgrade. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade and for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Alvina Louise Bechthold was born on January 16, 1927, in Ossian, Iowa, the daughter of Reuben and Josie (Larson) Knudsvig. The family moved to the Belgrade and Brooten area where they farmed and she attended country grade school. On October 16, 1953, Alvina was united in marriage to Leland Bechthold at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Brooten. They made their home in Minneapolis until moving to the farm north of Belgrade in 1970, where she was a homemaker and later worked for Maher's Depart- ment Store. Alvina and Leland were able to share in 19 years of marriage before his death on April 30, 1973.
She is survived by her children, Veronica (Al) Inderrieden of Belgrade, Denise (Charles) Hicks of Buffalo and Wayne (Brenda Theis) Bechthold of Belgrade; 7grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Obert (Joann) Knudsvig, Kermit (Shirley) Knudsvig, Berdine (Ramona) Knudsvig and Adeline (Howard) Roberg; and sister-in-law, Leona Knudsvig.
Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; parents; and siblings, Marcella Olson, Vernon Knudsvig and Darlene Kleve.
