Andrew Matteson was born January 26, 1970 in St. Cloud to Delwin and Sheila (Kramer) Matteson. Andy grew up in Foley and graduated from Foley High School in 1988. He attended community college in Ely before entering the US Army. Andy served in the Army from 1991-1997 where he received training as a radiology specialist. Andy worked as a CT Specialist at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview from 1997 until his illness. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Wild. He especially enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew and going to the cabin.

Once Andy was diagnosed with Glioblastoma he chose Louie Zamperini's famous quote: "You can't let anything keep you down". Andy was a true champion of living this each day. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

He is survived by his mother; Sheila Matteson, Foley; sister, Sara (Jon Storbakken) Matteson, Inver Grove Heights; niece and nephew, Shelby Matteson and Alex Matteson-Green and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Del, 2006 and grandparents, David (Agnes) Matteson and Ted (Veronica) Kramer, step-grandfather, Jack Warner and aunt, Jean (Kramer) Haffley.
