Clyde Stangl Obituary
Pierz and St Cloud - Clyde M. Stangl, 65 year old resident of Pierz and St. Cloud, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his residence in St. Cloud. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Ken Popp officiating. A visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4-7 PM at the church, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Clyde Stangl was born on December 3, 1952 in Little Falls to Urban and Viola (Gross) Stangl. He played multiple positions on the Pierz Healy High School football team, where he graduated 3rd in his class, in 1971. He continued his education at St. Cloud State University where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Accounting, and later obtained his CPA Licensure. Clyde was united in marriage to Marlene Ramler on September 16, 1978 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. He worked for H&R Block and then partnered with John Berns forming Berns & Stangl LLC. After splitting that partnership he formed Stangl & Jaskowiak Ltd in Sauk Rapids and Foley with Adam Jaskowiak. Shortly thereafter he opened Clyde M. Stangl Ltd in Pierz. Clyde was also a financial planner with Stonebridge Capital Advisors. He was a member of the St. Cloud Jaycees, Sauk Rapids Kiwanis, and the Pierz Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling, deer hunting, and was a real history buff. Clyde looked forward to the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Stangl of St. Cloud & Pierz, MN; children, Julie (Dan) Johnson of Sauk Rapids, MN, Michael Stangl of Big Lake, MN; grandchildren, Brady Stangl, Abigail Johnson, Alexander Stangl, Lydia Johnson, Cameron Stangl; parents, Urban and Viola Stangl of Pierz; siblings, Laurie Stangl of Bloominton, MN, James (Patricia) Stangl of Pierz, MN, and Karen Stangl of Bloomington, MN.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Stangl, and Curtis Stangl.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Arrangements are with the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service of Pierz.

Marlene and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Clyde's passing! You have my deepest sympathies. I am Sharon Fashant's daughter and used to clean the offices at night when it was Berns and Stangl in Sauk Rapids. Clyde was a great guy! May your memories of him ease the pain!

So surprised and sorry to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to the family. I started as a client with him since he was with H & R Block. Always looked forward to seeing and chatting with him every year, even if I owed taxes. He will be missed.

So saddened to hear about Clydes passing. Greg and I had been Clydes clients for years. We will miss his sense of humor and his smile as we ask every year if we can claim our fish on our taxes this year. He would just chuckle and say, sure, if you can get a social security number for them! He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this difficult time.
