Donita Martin Obituary

Donita J. Martin, 58

Avon

January 21, 1956 - July 26, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice for Donita Martin who died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Friends and relatives may call from 4-8PM Tuesday at the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the gathering space at Immaculate Conception Church in Rice.

Donita was born in St. Cloud to Donald W. & Margaret R. (Fiedler) Martin.  She worked as an IT Tech for the Wright County Sheriff's Department.  She is known as a generous, kind, tender, compassionate person who led with her heart.  She was a gift giver with a whimsical nature; always very thoughtful in her giving.  She was a caretaker to many throughout her life.  She enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends.  She had a special love for animals, especially her dogs.  She enjoyed reading, was musically gifted; she honored veterans for many years, playing taps at funerals and special events.  She was a thoughtful host at her annual Bouja gathering, which was always a hit for her friends and family.

Survivors include her longtime companion Marvin Stoermann and their dog Ginny of Avon; siblings, David (Vicki) Martin of Coon Rapids; Carol (Dr. Virgil) Meyer of Lake Alexander; Kevin (Janice) Martin of Rice; Monte Martin of St. Cloud; Mary Martin of Minneapolis; Doni (Sharon) Martin of Foley; and 14 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
